Tri-County Welcomes Sarah Itani as New Communications and Planning Assistant

Updated: Jan 8, 2023

Lansing, Mich. - The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (Tri-County) is pleased to introduce their newest addition to the team, Sarah Itani, as the agency’s Communications and Planning Assistant. Itani will be responsible for providing support to day-to-day and special communications initiatives and activities, as well as implementing best practices for visualization, information and data sharing and coordination, and innovative community engagement tools for the agency’s programs and special projects.

Originally from Michigan, Itani received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Grand Valley State University. She brings more than eight years of experience in marketing and management while living abroad in Lebanon working in the private sector. Itani also interned at the Grand Valley Metropolitan Council (GVMC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Grand Rapids region, as a marketing and planning intern.

“I am excited to be back in Michigan after so long and working for Tri-County," said Itani. "Communications and planning go hand in hand and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the team. When I was involved in GVMC, my goal was to work with as many agencies as possible to build relationships, and I hope to do the same at Tri-County.”

“We are thrilled to have Sarah join the Tri-County team,” said Executive Director Jim Snell. “Her background in planning and years of marketing experience will be a valuable asset for the team as we engage community members in our planning initiatives for the region.”
