About the Event
The Wellhead Protection Viewer is an interactive online mapping application that provides a variety of data – including well locations, time of travel areas, brownfields, potential contamination source locations, and more – so communities and organizations can be better informed when making development decisions that may affect our region's groundwater. The application is a useful resource for planners looking to identify locations at greatest risk for groundwater contamination and preparing site plan reviews, emergency response plans, and risk and resilience assessments, all of which help protect our drinking water at its source!
Tri-County has been working with local communities to coordinate an upgrade of the Viewer to improve functionality, integrate live data sources, and update our Potential Contaminant Source Inventory and expand it to include locations throughout the region.
Communities and organizations in the tri-county region that are interested in learning how to utilize and navigate the new and improved Viewer are invited to participate in a virtual training session on Thursday, August 20th from 11-12 p.m. facilitated by OHM Advisors. The session will include information on the practical applications of the Viewer when making site plan and development decisions, as well as types of hardware and software needed to operate it effectively.
Not able to make the training but still interested in learning more about the tool? Stay tuned for training videos and guides that will be made available after the session.
